Hi. I’m Josie.
Since 2004, I have worked with non-profit, social service, and social justice agencies across New York City, and collaborated with agencies statewide and nationwide. Currently, I am honored to consult with individuals, programs, and agencies to support their knowledge and treatment of trauma. My career integrates trauma-informed care with expertise in working with the systems and professions that impact recovery following interpersonal violence.
I attended Syracuse University, where I graduated with a BA in English Textual Studies with a Minor in Anthropology. After many successful years of working in project management, I realized that most of my heroes were social workers. I gained admission to Columbia University, where my studies focused on clinical work informed by program planning and evaluation. I earned my MS in Social Work in 2006.
A combination of individual healing + systems advocacy informs my work every day.

I’ve worked professionally with these organizations:
“…there are layers here: the trauma of what happened to you and also the trauma of the system failing you. When systems that are set up to take care of you and aid in your healing are actually doing the opposite, that betrayal is really hard.”
